Linda’s Story: Speaking, Hearing, and Breathing could be the primary Factors in Life

In Lucid Hearing, we’re so pleased to have clients that embody the compassion our firm believes in. We took a while to talk with one of our cherished clients, Linda about her own life and her encounter using Nano hearing aid technologies.

Linda realized she’d hearing loss through a tough time in her loved ones. Her husband, Ernie, had just had his heart valve replaced and hadbroken his neck in two areas. Linda and her daughter had been pouring their hearts into helping Ernie get back on his feet, but throughout the procedure, Linda discovered that her hearing was beginning to decline.

A friend of Ernie’s said that he’d purchased his hearing aids using Lucid Hearing in the Sam’s Club at Abilene. He suggested Lucid Hearing, therefore Linda decided to look it over.

Once at Lucid Hearing, Linda’s life transformed. “The audiologist was absolutely wonderful,” Linda recalls. “From the moment I put the hearing aid in my ear, I could hear everything that was going on. I just got so excited because I could hear everything that was going on around me!” Linda continues, “We all think this couldn’t happen to us, but guess what: it can. It won’t be just like when we were younger, but it has been so amazing.”

Linda’s hearing aids Christmas gifts from her husband. She’s thankful because, as she puts it”It just feels like I’m a part of everything that goes on around me! I’m proud that we took this step.”

Linda’s lifestyle has changed in some profound ways since acquiring hearing aids. By way of instance, she does not possess the TV blaring anymore just like she was used to. And today, she is able to speak on the telephone that’s at the workplace effortlessly. Linda is particularly glad that she is able to hear her 21 year-old granddaughter telephone from New York. “My granddaughter will call and say’grandmother,’ and I just beam!” says Linda. Linda’s granddaughter will be spending a semester in Washington, DC shortly, and Linda is eager to keep hearing her DC adventures on the telephone!

Additionally, Linda can listen to the birds today. From the visitors, she is able to hear what is happening behind her without anybody needing to honk their horn . She’s in the kitchen and hear everything that is happening on the TV, although she can not see it. “It’s opened up a whole new world,” reflects Linda. “Last week, I heard something beeping like crazy and I noticed it and it ended up being the 9 o’clock alarm on a smartphone. I wouldn’t have heard that before, so it’s neat,” notes Linda.

Based on Linda, “Getting hearing aids was the easiest thing in the world. These are so comfortable, I can barely even tell I have them on!” In reality, the very first day Linda had her hearing aids in, she got in the shower and discovered that a”womp, womp” sound. She noticed she had her hearing skills ! She did not get them wet, but she had been astonished she would hear the water hitting her own hair! She subsequently told her physician:”It was so funny because it’s like a warning went off when I heard a sound that I wouldn’t have heard before!”

Now, Linda retains her hearing aids along with her all the time. She places them right after she sets her glasses in the afternoon!

Linda is now retired. Throughout her career, she failed insurance work for physicians. Her specialization was anesthesia. She subsequently worked for a charging group. Additionally, she worked with the ENT Doctor at Dallas in Medical City Hospital. The most fascinating thing Linda recalls from this period was when she watched a kid brought to America out of Kosovo and viewing that kid undergo the pretesting, working with language pathologists, along with the audiologist. “The most wonderful sight,” Linda recalls, “was being able to see this child hear for the first time and being able to look at her mother and say ‘mama’.”

Linda loves being retired since she gets the opportunity to perform Sudoku, crosswords, cross-stitch, and spend some time with her two small puppy dogs.

Most importantly, Linda loves helping people when they need assistance. “I like to help people,” stocks Linda. “I like to give people a hand.”

Linda includes a speaking valve which helps patients who’ve had tracheostomies. Her expertise prompted her to dedicate to”helping anyone that needs help.” Since Linda explains,”some trach patients think their lives are over. But their lives are not over. I want to help anyone who needs help.”

If Linda can share 1 message with everybody, she’d discuss this:”People need to understand that even though we’re getting older, we don’t have to get rid of the greatest activities. Talking, hearing, and breathing are the main things, and having access to these things makes all the difference in the world.”

Since Linda reflects the effect that her hearing aids have left on her life, she shares:”Being able to hear better is the best thing to happen to me besides marrying my husband and having our daughter. I just feel so lucky.”

We feel blessed to have Linda as an individual client. It is individuals with hearts like hers that keep us moving and inspire us to perform the job we do.
