February 7 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 751 Tarpon Bay Road, Sanibel (near Timbers Restaurant). Enjoy these refreshments at the gallery recently voted best art gallery on the island. And meet the artists. There will be new works of art related to the event. The public is welcome.
Tower Gallery is an artists’ cooperative consisting of 23 artists in two dimensional and three dimensional mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, ceramic, wood, glass and metal. It is open 7 days a week 10 am to 9 pm. The gallery was founded in 1982, and moved to its present location in 1994. It is housed in a spacious original Florida Cottage, with Craftsman elements, that was originally built on the Gulf in 1915 and moved to its present site on a flatbed truck. The blue and white building is in its repainted but original construction. The gallery space is large, well-lit and inviting, and full of old Florida charm.
As the hatter said, “There is a place. Like no other on earth. It is a place of wonder . . . In order to survive it, you must be mad as a hatter.” (Alice in Wonderland). Regardless of your frame of mind, please come and enjoy part of the afternoon at Tower Gallery, and, if you think of it, bring some canned foods, to benefit FISH.
