Like a palimpsest, or manuscript that has been scraped off and reused, Sarah Kiser's work hides mysteries--layers upon layers of them. Her work contains depths that invariably suggest, to the reader, various narratives--stories one might tell about it. The work seems to contain worlds within worlds. And yet despite its complex evocativeness, every piece has a lovely unity, an emotional coherence, to which the reader first responds. One looks, admires, goes deeper, and then admires even more. Sarah is self-taught artist and lives in Fort Myers. Sarah uses her artwork to convey stories, to transport the viewer to other worlds and realms, and to inspire compassion.
